You moved into a home with a pre-installed security system
Sometimes when you buy a house, a home security system is already installed. All the components function well, are installed in the best places, and are ready to go. In this case, you might see that you have to call and set up a new service contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration issues, and they might offer options on an upgrade or two. It's a preliminary trip, and you can get your monitoring set up without worrying about any new components -- unless you make additions.
The old homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer fee to make your life easier. If the previous owners are downsizing to a condo or retirement community, you keeping the Vivint service may be an addendum of the sale.
You want to move and take your existing components with you
You might want to bring your favorite Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to accomplish, as most components are plug and play. You can take down each component by yourself or use a professional expert to dismantle the system. Then our installers will hang the same components -- and any additions you want to make -- in the new place. Your home security contract will keep the same.
